Easy Basic Kitchen Faucet Repair

Restaurant Equipment Repair Atlanta
Want help with kitchen faucet repair again? If you prefer to do it yourself and invest a few bucks on a few replacement pieces, this may be of assistance to you personally.
Replacing a standard leaky faucet can be as simple, depending of course on what's causing the leak. Generally, but the seals inside of the unit have worn from use and no more seal well enough. This issue is a simple fix as long as you've got the ideal tools ' an Allen wrench, a channel lock or vice grip pliers, and a set of needle nose pliers. A new set of screws, seals, and a metal ball are found in any local hardware store.
First and foremost it is important to shut off both cold and hot water lines before removing the faucet. Begin by removing the grip of the device and exposing a metallic casing inside. To do so, lift the handle all the way up to observe a screw that needs the Allen wrench. Loosen and remove the twist as well as the handle. The metal casing can be taken away as well but use the station lock/vice grip pliers to twist the foundation of the housing to loosen it.
After that's been removed you will be able to access the mechanism that operates the ball and utilizes the seals. Pull out the mechanism from the stem and you will discover your seals. Typically they're black rubber/plastic and are rather inexpensive (roughly 5 bucks) in most hardware stores. These seals are what must be replaced, and the springs add pressure.
Use the needle nosed pliers and pull straight up on the seals to eliminate them. Replace them the same way with all the pliers to shove straight into the slot. If you purchased a new ball that's always a good idea then which may be replaced with the old one. Ensure when you put everything back together that each hole lines up properly, this is important. Lubricating the seals and ball with Vaseline is a fantastic way to make things work smoother.
Replace the stem mechanism and tighten the base of the device together with the vice grip pliers clockwise. Put the handle back to the stem and tighten the Allen wrench. Turn the water lines on and slowly push the handle up to make sure water comes through. Make sure the hot water is hot and the cold is cold (it's possible to combine the two up with kitchen faucet fixes).
